Hispano Aviación HA-1112 Aircraft Overview

The Hispano Aviación HA-1112 was a Spanish fighter aircraft that was based on the German Messerschmitt Bf 109. The aircraft was produced by the Spanish company Hispano Aviación in the years following World War II.

The HA-1112 was a single-engine, single-seat fighter that was designed for use by the Spanish Air Force. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, which was a significant improvement over the original German Daimler-Benz engine used in the Bf 109. It also featured several other upgrades and modifications, including a revised wing design and improved armament.

The HA-1112 was used primarily in a ground attack role, and was used extensively by the Spanish Air Force during the 1950s and 1960s. It was also exported to several other countries, including Egypt and Syria.

Perhaps the most famous variant of the HA-1112 was the HA-1112-M1L Buchón, which was used extensively in the 1969 film “Battle of Britain” to represent German Messerschmitt Bf 109s in aerial combat scenes. Today, a number of HA-1112s are preserved in museums and private collections around the world.
