Messerschmitt P.1101 Aircraft Overview

The Messerschmitt P.1101 was a German prototype jet fighter aircraft designed during the later stages of World War II. The aircraft was designed by the German aircraft manufacturer Messerschmitt in response to a request from the German Air Ministry for a high-performance jet fighter capable of intercepting Allied bombers.

The P.1101 was designed to have a sleek and aerodynamic design with a delta wing configuration. It was powered by a single Heinkel-Hirth HeS 011 turbojet engine and was capable of reaching speeds of up to 1,050 km/h (652 mph) at an altitude of 10,000 meters (32,800 feet).

The P.1101 was never completed, however, as the war came to an end before it could be put into production. Nevertheless, the design influenced the development of a number of post-war aircraft, including the F-86 Sabre and the MiG-15.
