Mikoyan Gurevich, also known as MiG, is a renowned Russian aircraft design bureau that was established in 1939 by Artem Ivanovich Mikoyan and Mikhail Iosifovich Gurevich. The bureau gained worldwide recognition for its production of numerous successful and iconic military aircraft.

During World War II, Mikoyan Gurevich designed and manufactured several aircraft for the Soviet Union, including the MiG-3, a high-altitude interceptor, and the MiG-1, a fighter aircraft. These early designs showcased the bureau’s focus on high-speed and agile aircraft. In the post-war era, Mikoyan Gurevich continued to develop and produce advanced fighter jets. One of their most famous creations was the MiG-15, a swept-wing jet fighter that achieved notable success during the Korean War and became one of the world’s first operational jet-powered fighters.
